Serial #22662006

During the winter of 2002/2003 when Scotty had been ill and briefly hospitalized Gibson CEO Henry Juszkiewicz presented Scotty with a get well gift.  The gift was this 2002 Black L5 CES and during the fall of 2003 it was on display at the Valley Arts Guitar store in Nashville to commemorate his 50 years playing Gibson guitars.  In the fall of 2004 Scotty donated this guitar to the Tennessee State Museum in Nashville for display.  It is included in their exhibit entitled "Guitars, Fiddles, and Coats of Many Colors: Country Music Highlights from the Tennessee State Museum." The guitar is displayed with items from Elvis, D. J. Fontana, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, and other Sun Records and country music legends.
