On July 5th, 2014 The Memphis Music Foundation paid tribute to Bill Black during festivities celebrating what they referred to as the 60th Anniversary of Rock 'n' Roll.  Just prior to a one night only concert at the Levitt Shell, formerly the Overton Park Shell, the site of Elvis, Scotty and Bill's debut performance on July 30, 1954, Bill was honored posthumously with a Brass Note which will be placed on the Beale Street Brass Note Walk of Fame recognizing his many contributions to Memphis music.  On hand for the event were his children Nancy, Louis and Leigh.
